The Judgeship of Khurda was inaugurated on 1st May 1997 after being bifurcated from the Judgeship of Puri. 57 courts are functioning under it with outlying stations at Khurda, Khurda Road, Banapur, Tangi, Jatni, Chilika, and Begunia. The newly constructed Judicial Court Complex at Bhubaneswar was inaugurated on 05.12.2024 by Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India in presence of Shri Raghubar Das, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh, Chief Justice, Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo, Administrative Judge, Khurda Judgeship and companion judges of the High Court.
Initiatives were taken to promote social justice and skill development by involving community participation. An augmentation camp was organized to provide different benefits to transgenders. A skill development training programme on renewable energy for jail inmates was organized.
