The High Court of Orissa has a sanctioned strength of 33. In the beginning of 2024, the working strength of the Court was 20. On 7th February, 2024 Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh assumed the office of Chief Justice and the working strength rose to 21.

On transfer of Dr. Justice B.R. Sarangi on 04th July, 2024 and elevated as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, the working strength stood at 20. On superannuation of Justice D. Dash on 11th October, 2024, the working strength reduced to 19.

On superannuation of Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh, the Chief Justice on 19th January, 2025, the working strength reduced to 18. On 26th March, 2025, Justice Harish Tandon assumed the Office of the Chief Justice and the working strength rose to 19.

Justice Chitta Ranjan Dash, who was elevated on 07th October, 2009 as Judge of the High Court of Orissa and transferred from the High Court in 2022, retired on 20th May, 2024 as Judge of Calcutta High Court.
