The Judgeship of Jharsuguda commenced on 24th November, 2011. Until 23rd September, 2011, it was under the jurisdiction of undivided Sambalpur. The District Court is functioning in a new building having 11 Courtrooms. The facilities available in the building include lift, ramp for differently abled persons, e-Sewa Kendra, and VC Cabin. 16 different Courts are functioning in the Judgeship with one outlying station at Lakhanpur.
The Court and Office of the District and Sessions Judge was inspected on 26.12.2024 by Justice S.K. Mishra, Administrative Judge of Jharsuguda Judgeship.
