The Judgeship of Gajapati came into existence on 30th July, 2011 after the bifurcation of the Judgeship of Ganjam-Gajapati and started functioning with headquarters at Paralakhemundi. 16 different courts are functioning in the Judgeship with outlying stations at R. Udayagiri, Mohana, and Kashinagar. The new District Court building was inaugurated on 20th November, 2020.
The Court and Office of the District and Sessions Judge was inspected on 24.08.2024 by Justice Sibo Sankar Mishra, Administrative Judge of Gajapati Judgeship.
