
Angul Judgeship with its headquarters at Angul was separated from its parent judgeship of Dhenkanal on 31st July, 2012. 30 different courts are functioning in this judgeship with five outlying stations situated at Talcher, Athmallik, Pallahara, Chhendipada, and Banarpal. The Old District Court complex started functioning in 1996.
The New Court complex was inaugurated on 21st April, 2018. It includes one Virtual Centre of High Court of Orissa, e-Sewa Kendra, V.C. cabin, e-prosecution, and record room. Construction of 3rd floor of District Court Building was completed. Construction of residential quarters for ADJ-cum-Spl. Judge (Vigilance) & Judge, Family Court, Angul, Court Building of J.M.F.C., Banarpal & Chhendipada, residential quarters at Chenndipada, Athmallik and Talcher are under progress. The Regional Judicial Academy, Angul imparted regular training to the Judicial Officers and ministerial staff posted in the cluster districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Deogarh.
Legal awareness programmes and awareness programmes regarding enrolment of drop out students in school and other such topics were organized by DLSA, Angul in the year 2024.
