The Court of District & Sessions Judge, Nabarangpur, started functioning with effect from 22nd October 2011 after being separated from its parent Judgeship of Koraput.
The building has 11 courtrooms, including Children’s Court, Judges’ library, Bar hall, VC cabin, and lift. It also has modern amenities like kiosks to ascertain the case status and display boards. 19 different Courts are functioning in the Judgeship with outlying stations at Umerkote, Raighar, Chandahandi, and Jharigaon.
In 2024, 37 cases were taken up by the Office of the Legal Aid Defence Counsel System out of which 16 were disposed of.
